Jamaican seam bowler Chinelle Henry and batter Chedean Nation had to be transported to the hospital after it was reported both players passed out on the field of play as the West Indies hosted Pakistan in the second T20 international at the Coolidge cricket ground in Antigua on Friday.

Cricket West Indies stated that both Henry and Nation were taken to the hospital for medical attention. It was later reported that both players were conscious and stable and will remain in the hospital for further assessment.

Pakistan captain Javeria Khan, in a statement, said “The thoughts and prayers of the whole Pakistan team are with Chinelle Henry and Chedean Nation. We wish them a quick recovery and are hopeful that we will play against them in our next match on Sunday.

“Such incidents are tragic and can shake whole dressing rooms. Hats off to the West Indies that they turned up and completed the match despite the grave incident.”

In the meantime, the West Indies took an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series, after securing a seven-run win in the second T20 via the Duckworth Lewis method. Heavy rain forced officials to abandon the game.

The West Indies who batted first, posted 125 for six in their 20 overs, with Kycia Knight top-scoring with 30 and Nation 28.

There were two wickets each for Anam Amin and Fatima Sana for Pakistan, who were 23 for one in the fourth over when rain halted play.

Earlier, the West Indies Women’s 'A' team went down by 14 runs to their Pakistani counterparts in the second T20 match to trail 2-0 in the three-match series.

Pakistan first posted 108 for five with Muneeba Ali top-scoring with 27. West Indies were then dismissed for 94 in 19.4 overs with Jamaican Rashada Williams once again top-scoring with 21. Kainat Imtiaz bagged three for 18.
