COVID-19 causes cancellation of racing at Caymanas Park for Wednesday

The race day set for Caymanas Park on Wednesday has been cancelled.
The Gleaner understands that the decision was made to scrap the event, which would have featured nine races on the day, after at least one person at the track tested positive for COVID-19.
As a result, the next race-day, set for Saturday, is also in question.
The cancellation was forced by the Jamaica Racing Commission (JRC).
The JRC says it will now do contact tracing and testing of other track personnel, and also sanitise the venue.
Racing was initially set for Monday, August 30, but pushed back to Wednesday, September 1 because of the seven-day lockdown imposed by Prime Minister Andrew Holness to curb the spread of COVID-19 across the island.
