Damion Lowe, Digicel treat children in Rockfort for Christmas
SCORES OF children turned out in the community of Rockfort in Kingston on Tuesday where Reggae Boy Damion Lowe was the man at the centre of a Christmas treat for its residents.
The national senior team’s vice-captain provided gifts to more than 200 children at the Marcus Garvey Square on Glasspole Avenue.
Accompanied by representatives of his local sponsors, Digicel, and members of his management team, the 28-year-old, who was the sole Jamaican named to the 2021 CONCACAF Gold Cup Best XI, handed gifts to children, who came out in their numbers to greet him.
The inaugural staging of the initiative was taking place in a community Lowe has called home, and was also the starting point of his famous Reggae Boy father, Onandi Lowe.
According to Lowe, football has blessed him and he would like nothing more than to extend those blessings to the residents of Rockfort.
“It has been a good year for me; I know how important Christmas is to the little ones and this treat will put a smile on their faces. I have to thank my sponsors Digicel for showing up in a big way by providing all the gifts,” said Lowe.
“Hopefully next year, after the pandemic, we can have amusement rides for the children as well,” he added.
