Mount Pleasant whip Montego Bay United
Mount Pleasant Football Academy kept pace with front-runners Waterhouse in the Jamaica Premier League after beating Montego Bay United 4-0 in their fourth round game at the UWI-JFF Captain Horace Burrell Centre of Excellence on Sunday.
Daniel Green was the star performer for the St Ann team, scoring a goal and providing two assists.
All four goals were scored in the first half. Mount Pleasant jumped into the lead after 12 minutes when Green cut inside his marker and curled a shot into the top corner for the opener.
Suelae McCalla made it 2-0 ten minutes later after collecting a pass from Green. Ten minutes before the interval Green found Donovan Segree and the latter's deflected strike made it 3-0. Three minutes before the break Mount Pleasant's Alwayne Harvey who eluded his marker and set up Cleon Pryce to score from close-range.
The win puts Mount Pleasant on 12 points from their four matches. Waterhouse, also have 12 points, but lead the league with a superior goal difference.
