Central Champs | Edwin Allen shows middle-distance class

Edwin Allen's girls showed their strength in middle distance events today at the Central Championships at GC Foster College after winning two of three 800-metre finals.

Leading the way were their class-one duo of Rushane Dwyer and Jessica McLean, who finished first and second in impressive times of two minutes 08.27 seconds and 2:08.82, with Holmwood Technical High School's Jodyann Mitchell third in 2:09.37.

Rickeisha Simms won the class two two-lap event for the defending champions in 2:10.60. Simms finished ahead of St Catherine High School's Kitania Headley, 2:10.50, and St Jago High school's Misha Jade Samuels, 2:14.41.

Holmwood's Andrea Peart turned the tables in class three, clocking 2:15.30. St Jago's Kedene Coombs, 2:18.95, took second while it was third for Peart's teammate, Javi Rose in 2:20.15.
