Jamaica's women had mixed fortunes in the preliminary round of the Women's 60 metre hurdles in Belgrade as World number one, Danielle Williams, was out, while Britany Anderson finished third in her Heat in 8.10 seconds to advance to this afternoon's semi finals.

Unbeaten all season in the event after winning eight races, Wiliams, who came to the Championships as howling favouriite for the gold medal with a time of 7.75 seconds, ran into early problems, hitting the top of hurdle three.

Williamswould lose momentum, fail to recover and clatter into hurdle four, breaking it.

That was too much and Williams decelerated rapidly to finish sixth in 8.23 seconds.
