Fraser-Pryce opens with 10.67 world lead
Multiple Olympic and World sprint Champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce used her first 100m race of the season to send a strong statement of intent to the rest of the field vying for her World Championship title.
Fraser Pryce stormed to victory in a new world leading time of 10.67 seconds at the Kip Keino Classic in Nairobi Kenya today.
Egypt's Bassant Hemida was well beaten, crossing the tape next in 11.02 while America's Shannon Ray was third in 11.33.
World Under 20 200m champion and Olympic silver medalist Christine Mboma was chasing her with 50m to go but pulled up with an injury and did not finish.
Fraser-Pryce's time is just seven hundredth of a second off the 10.60 personal best she clocked in Lausanne, Switzerland last August.
