Briana bounces back with sub-11
Olympic relay gold medalist Briana Williams clocked a season’s best, 10.98 seconds to win the women’s 100m at the JAAA/SDF Jubilee Series at the Richard Ashenheim Stadium today.
Williams won the event comfortably ahead of Shockoria Wallace, 11.09, and Shimayra Williams 11.14.
The starlet’s time was just outside her personal best mark of 10.97.
Williams, who is bouncing back from a ninth place finish at the Prefontaine Classic in Eugene last week, said she was very pleased with her efforts.
"I am pleased with my performance because it was a season’s best time, so I am grateful for that,” Williams, who had only managed 11.20 in Eugene, said.
Former national junior star Jazeel Murphy won the men’s equivalent in 10.22 seconds.
Kadrian Goodson was second in 10.27, while third went to Michael Campbell in 10.29.
