Jamaican welterweight boxer Joshua Frazer improved his professional record to 6-0 after adding Mexican Estaban Villalba to his list of knockouts at the CCA Centre in Brampton, Ontario, last Friday.

The 28-year-old Jamaican defeated his opponent in two rounds for his sixth knockout from as many fights.

However, Joshua's coach and father, Dewith Frazer, was particularly impressed with the fighter's patience and maturity and believes the six feet, three inches boxer enhanced his growing reputation with another decisive victory.

"Joshua is an experienced fighter and we thought the guy would have given Joshua some rounds, but Joshua is in good shape. He is a real disciplined fighter and he is just doing what is necessary right now.

"In his last couple of fights, we believe he had been rushing things but on Friday he was a bit relaxed and went through the process.

"He has a lot of energy and youth and sometimes he wants to do things in haste, but we explain to him that there is no rush. He has eight rounds and we are very pleased as a team how his fight went on the weekend," he stated after Joshua scored a decisive knockout win over an opponent, who has 43 fights to his credit.

Joshua has been enjoying a meteoric rise in the boxing world, and Dewith says the boxing public cannot get enough of the rising star.

"So far everyone is pleased, those watching him really like how he is progressing. They are very excited and cannot wait to see him again because he brings a certain excitement.

"People like to support a winner and they feel they have a winner in Joshua. Bigger fights will come around and when the bigger fights come, we will try to continue the same pattern," Dewith Frazer said.

The aim now, Dewith said, is to keep Joshua focused and motivated and try to take his game to the next level.

"For his next fight, I will be bringing in a world-class sparring partner and that is going to be a test to see where he is.

"He has won all fights by knockouts so there are no doubts left in the room. We have to keep him in line and keep him focused.

"With every win comes more obstacles, so the key right now is to keep him on track and continue what he has been doing," he said.

Frazer was one of four Jamaicans who won on the United Promotions card. The others were Ricardo 'Big 12' Brown, Gregory Miller and Shakeel Phinn.
