Monday's horse racing meet shifted to Tuesday
HORSE RACING at Caymanas Park, originally scheduled for Monday, September 19, by promoting company Supreme Ventures Racing and Entertainment Limited (SVREL), has been rescheduled for the following day, Tuesday, September 20, due to a revised day of mourning to mark the passing of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II.
Caymanas Park had rescheduled what was an original Sunday meet, September 18, for Monday, as precedent would have had Sunday as the official day of mourning.
However, subsequent communication from Buckingham Palace advised late Friday afternoon that the official day of mourning is to be the day of the official funeral of The Late Queen Elizabeth II," a media release from King's House stated.
SVREL's general manager, Lorna Gooden, confirmed the rescheduled meet midway Saturday's 10-race card.
"Monday's racemeet has been rescheduled for Tuesday. Everything remains the same. We will have nine races, the same programme and existing post times," said the SVREL general manager.
