St George's College defeated Kingston College 4-2 in their ISSA/Digicel Manning Cup top-of-the-table clash this afternoon at Stadium East.

Joshua Jackson opened the scoring in the 13th minute and Zabir Taylor added another in the 44th minute as the ‘Light Blues’ had the defending champions on the ropes at halftime.

But KC roared to life four minutes after the restart as Teyshawn Matthis reduced the deficit in the 47th minute and Nashordo Gibbs restored parity two minutes later.

However, a defensive error allowed Brian Burkett to restore St George's advantage in the 72nd minute and put the game beyond reach in the first minute of second half stoppage time.

St George's College confirmed their place in the second round of the Manning Cup moving to 21 points, tied with KC but are still in second place as KC have a superior goal difference.
