THE JAMAICA Football Federation (JFF) and Wisynco Foundation have partnered to offer scholarships valued at $300,00.00 each to two student-footballers who are leaving high school and who have been accepted by a tertiary institution for the coming semester. The award will be made to one boy and one girl.

The scholarship is aimed at assisting the worthwhile individuals to realise their leadership potential and contribute to a better future.

In a release, the Wisynco said it “recognises that academics is an integral part of the development of our youth, and will be continuing to lead the charge in their development. Wisynco has also been an organisation that has shown its commitment to youth development, and we are therefore happy to be partnering with them in this important initiative”.

JFF President Michael Ricketts said, “I am happy that this initiative is now a reality, as this is something that we have been working on from late last year. I am committed as president to find ways in which the JFF can assist to improve the social impact of our youngsters who play football, and show everyone that football is a tool for social development.”

Apart from being academically qualified to enter a tertiary institution, the student-footballer must have represented Jamaica or their school in various football competitions and must demonstrate a need for financial assistance.

Qualified students can find the criteria and application form on the social media pages of the JFF as well as in various social groups involving media or ISSA.

Final date for application is tomorrow.

The JFF plans to further expand this scholarship offering in future.
