Jamaica draw 2-2 with Haiti
Jamaica clawed their way back from 2-0 down in the first 14 minutes to earn a 2-2 draw with Haiti in their League A Concacaf Nations League Group B match at the National Stadium tonight.
Don Luicius scored both goals for Haiti from counterattacks down the left flank as the Reggae Boyz’ defence failed to match the speed of their opponents, who soaked up pressure in the first half before pouncing quickly when the opportunity presented.
Luicius scored in the 11th minute and scorched the Jamaicans again in the 14th, with Demarai Gray providing a glimmer of hope for the Jamaicans at the start of the second half when he scored in the 51st minute. Bobby Reid completed the Reggae Boyz' comeback in the 81st when he scored from the penalty spot.
The result meant Jamaica returned to the top of Group B with four points, the same as Cuba, who enjoyed a 1-0 win over Suriname. At press time, Honduras and Grenada were still at 0-0 in their game.
