Reid, the only Jamaican to make Nations League A best XI
JAMAICA’S BOBBY Reid is the only player from the Caribbean nation to make way onto September’s Concacaf Nations League A best XI.
Jamaica, playing against Honduras and Haiti, in Group B of the Nations League in September, ended the international window on four points after respective 1-0 and 2-2 results.
Reid, who scored a penalty in Jamaica’s 2-2 draw, was also the man who assisted Demarai Gray in the country’s 1-0 win over Honduras.
Reid is joined in the best XI forward line by Haiti’s Don Louicius, who scored twice against Jamaica, and Panama’s Jose Fajardo.
Fajardo made the team on the back of scoring in a 3-0 win over Martinique and having 91 per cent passing accuracy over the course of 161 minutes of football.
In midfield, the best XI is filled out by Cuba’s Willian Pazo, Honduras’ Edwin Rodriguez, Panama’s Adalberto Carrasquilla, and Trinidad and Tobago’s Ryan Telfer.
Defenders Carlos Vasquez of Cuba, Trinidad and Tobago’s Aubrey David, and Guatemala’s Jose Morales round out the 3-4-3 formation chosen for the period.
Cuba, who also had a solid start to the tournament in Group A where they are second to Trinidad and Tobago, boasts goalkeeper Raiko Arozarena as the best shot stopper in September.
Apart from his two clean sheets, Arozarena also had seven saves and three clearances across the two games.
