Reggae Boyz, Canada still on
The inclement weather passing over the island has not affected the playing of the Concacaf quarterfinal tie between the Reggae Boyz and Canada at the National Stadium this evening at 7.
The Reggae Boyz are using yesterday’s anniversary of their historic qualification to the 1998 FIFA World Cup in France as fuel for the massive tie that if successful, would see the Jamaican outfit through to the Conmebol Copa America next year.
Reggae Boy legends, Ricardo ‘Bibi’ Gardner, and Deon Burton, were two of the players from the 1998 campaign to voice calls for Jamaica to fill the National Stadium this evening.
Calls have also come from Reggae Boyz coach for that campaign, Rene Simoes.
Jamaica have now gone 14 games unbeaten in the Concacaf Nations League.
Canada last scored inside the National Stadium in 2006 and have never beaten the Reggae Boyz there.
