Robert Pickersgill, minister of water, uses a tractor to break ground in a ceremony at the Martha Brae Water Treatment Plant in Trelawny. The event, which took place on Thursday, launched the beginning of a renovation project for the plant, including repairs to the main plant and construction of an additional plant. The work falls under the North-western Parishes Corridor Water Supply Improvement Scheme, which is part of the US$111 million Category B of the Jamaica Water Supply Improvement Project, and will be performed by French contractor Vinci Construction.
