PM meets with members of US delegation

BASSETERRE (CMC):

Challenges faced by small island developing states and the federation’s preparation for its 2020 Mutual Financial Evaluation Report were discussed when Prime Minister Dr Timothy Harris met with several high-level officials from the United States Department of Treasury and the Barbados-based US Embassy.

The US delegation was led by the assistant secretary for terrorist financing in the Department of Treasury, Marshall Billingslea, and US Ambassador Linda S. Taglialatela.

During the meeting, Billingslea said his visit was a sign of the high value his government places on the friendship with St Kitts-Nevis, and it also demonstrated the US government’s willingness to continue to work with the twin-island federation.

The delegation also engaged in talks on possible areas in which the United States can lend further assistance to St Kitts and Nevis “to help you move faster along the path of growth and development,” Billingslea said.
