The answer was a resounding yes as the Consular Corps of Jamaica, under the patronage of Governor General Sir Patrick Allen and Lady Allen, hosted high tea at King's House on Thursday, January 21.

The tea's purpose was to officially dedicate and open the refurbished tea garden at the official residence. Lady Allen is a nature lover, and when members of the corps visited the 'first couple' last year, the idea to refurbish the garden and spruce up the entire grounds came about.

There was special recognition for consul Kenny Benjamin, who oversaw the renovation, as well as Lois Sherwood, who donated a painting to the palatial residence. Guests then enjoyed a fine evening, complete with soft music, sweet treats, sandwiches and, of course, warm tea.
