FORMER national junior high jump representative, Sheree Francis, scored the only Jamaican victory at the 103rd staging of the Millrose Games which was held Friday night at Madison Square Garden in New York.

Francis, the former Vere Technical athlete and who has been plagued by injuries since becoming a senior captured the women's high jump event with an impressive leap of 1.88 metres , just failing by two centimetres to equal the national senior record of 1.90m set by Dionne Guthrie in 1992.

Two-time Olympic 200 metres champion, Veronica Campbell-Brown, and World Indoor 4x400 metres silver medalist Edino Steele both had second place finishes.

Campbell-Brown had an exciting battle in the women's 60 metres event with American Lisa Barber. It took the photo finish camera to decide the result with Barber getting the nod by a whisker. Both were credited with the same time, 7.24 seconds. Barber's team-mate, Muna Lee, ended a close third in 7.25.

Steele , Jamaica best indoor male 400m runner this season, continued his good form as competing in the men's 600 yards he clocked 1:11.30 for second place. United States World Championship 400 metres hurdles bronze medalist, Bershawn Jackson, captured the event in in 1:11.26.
