In a private reception held at Flow's offices on Thursday to congratulate Boys' Town on their second consecutive Flow Champions Cup title triumph, the Red Brigade's Renae Lloyd was named the competition's Most Valuable Player (MVP).

A hat-trick in Boys' Town's semi-final win over Arnett Gardens - which ended 4-3 at the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex - and a penalty in the final against Humble Lion were the contributions that earned Lloyd $70,000 and the MVP Trophy.

Lloyd also shared the leading goalscorer award with Kimroy Davis of Humble Lion, who also scored four goals. Davis, who netted in Humble Lion's Flow KO encounters against Tivoli, Waterhouse and St Georges, hammered a free kick from 20 yards in the final against Boys' Town to complete his impressive tally of goals from four matches.

Other awards were handed to Andrew Price, winning coach, who pocketed $50,000 and a trophy, while Davis also collected the second-place medals on behalf of Humble Lion, who earned $400,000 for placing second.

Haiti relief effort

At the start of the knockout season, both Flow and SportsMax pledged $3,000 to the Haiti relief effort for every goal scored in this year's competition. With a total of 63 goals scored, Flow and SportsMax donated $189,000, which was later doubled by Flow, who presented Howard Chin, chairman of the Jamaica Red Cross, St Andrew branch, with a cheque for $378,000.

The 2009-10 Flow Champions Cup, the premier Jamaica Football Federation/Professional Football Association of Jamaica all-island knockout football competition, completed the second of a three-year partnership with Flow as title sponsors and the second of a five-year partnership with SportsMax as event managers.
