Toots and the Maytals' latest album Flip and Twist was digitally released two weeks ago as the reggae legend began his annual United States (US) spring tour to support the album. Toots will continue on to Europe, right after the US tour for his European summer tour between June and August.

Flip and Twist was released on Toots' own D&F Music label, supported by the William Morris Agency, and is available on iTunes and Amazon.com as well as on his own redesigned website at www.tootsandthemaytals.com.

Already number 20 on Amazon's International Best Sellers chart, Flip and Twist is ranked number 61 in the overall reggae category and number 68 in the Caribbean/Cuba category.

Legendary vocals

The self-produced album features Toots' legendary vocals and arrangements to deliver a diverse taste of R&B, funk, gospel, blues and country in his own inimitable style.

Toots was voted number 71 of the 100 Greatest Singers of All Time in 2009 by Rolling Stone magazine and is credited as the first artiste to use the word reggae in a song, naming the new sound in his 1968 Beverly's single Do the Reggae.

Always in studio when not on tour, Toots has been busy producing other artistes for his D&F Music label with two duet singles scheduled for release this week - Sailing On with Lukie D of LUST, known for his unique vocals and passion for love songs, and Never You Change with up and coming artiste Chantelle Ernandez, which is from her upcoming debut album, also produced by Toots for D&F Music.
