Dethroned Digicel Premier League champions, Tivoli Gardens, suffered their third consecutive league defeat on Sunday when they were beaten 4-3 by fierce rivals Boys' Town at Collie Smith Drive.

Despite the disappointment of losing three of their last four games, Lenworth Hyde Snr, coach of Tivoli, is pleased with the respect teams have shown for the league.

"I love how the league run because in these situations where a team doesn't have any chance of winning the league, to see them come out and play with such enthusiasm is great. Village, Georges and even Boys' Town," said Hyde.

Tivoli Gardens opened the scoring through Keammar Daley's 35-yard free kick in the 12th minute. Boys' Town pulled level in the 41st minute, courtesy of a Peter Keyes strike.

The Red Brigade then took the lead in the 66th minute when Xavian Virgo beat Tivoli's custodian Edsel Scott at his near post. The scores were level again in the 72nd minute when substitute Michael Spence capitalised on an error by Boys' Town's goalkeeper, Philmore Crumbie, to score.

Boys' Town, however, regained the lead immediately as Anthony Bennett's long-range effort crept in at the far post. That would, however, be Bennett's last meaningful contribution to the game as he was ejected in the 78th minute for committing two bookable offences.

Tivoli capitalised on their numerical advantage in the 82nd minute when Navion Boyd struck.

However, substitute Oniel McDonald found the winner for Boys' Town in the 90th minute.

Boys' Town coach, Andrew Price, said: "I am pleased with the result, but I am really unhappy with the way we displayed our football ability today. I didn't think that we played very well and it kind of highlighted our entire season, our inconsistency."
