Supreme Ventures Limited (SVL) has once again partnered with Caymanas Track Limited (CTL) for another staging of the Lotto Classic Race Day.

The race, a 2000-metre event for three-year-old colts and fillies, is slated for Labour Day - Monday, May 24 - at Caymanas Track.

At the launch held yesterday at the Jamaica Pegasus hotel, Paul Hoo, chairman of the board of SVL, announced his company's contribution to the purse money, for the races to be run on Lotto Race Day.

"It's been over 13 years since the Lotto brand has been associated with Caymanas horse racing and it is our supreme pleasure to do it all over again with our sponsorship of the 'Lotto Classic' Race Day. The sponsorship underscores SVL's commitment to and support for the development of the gaming industry, which pours millions of dollars into the Consolidated Fund, Betting, Gaming and Lotteries Commission and CHASE Fund," Hoo said.

SVL's sponsorship

SVL's sponsorship towards purses for this year's running of the Lotto Race Day meet is $1.2 million. A whopping $400,000 will be added to the purse for the feature race: the Lotto Classic for the Governor's Cup, making the total purse $3.3 million. Another $150,000 will be added to the purse for the Lotto Sprint Trophy, a Grade I Handicap race for native-bred and imported three-year-olds and upwards, making the total purse $1.47 million.

SVL will also add $100,000 each to the purses for the Lotto Dash and Lotto Rush trophies, making a total purse of $850,000. The Lotto Challenge Trophy and the Lotto Championship Trophy will also receive an addition of $100,000 each, bringing the total purses to $616,600 and $538,000, respectively.
