Kensington remained unbeaten in the two-day Jamaica Cricket Association Senior Cup cricket competition, after crushing Boys' Town by an innings and 45 runs inside one day, during this weekend's action at Kensington Park.

Batting first, Boys' Town were skittled out for a meagre 50 runs, with Ryan Francis, 5-14 and Dennis Bulli, 4-18, tearing through the Boys' Town attack with relative ease.

Kensington then posted 150 without loss in their reply, with Jeffery Scott, 80 not out, and Ranville Brown, 58 not out, leading the charge.

Batting a second time, Boys' Town were again bundled out for a low score. This time, the Trench Town-based team could only manage 45 runs, with Upson Edwards (5-18) doing the damage.

The win lifted Kensington to 28 points in Group A, eight more than second-place St Thomas, who were idle last weekend.

In other group games, St Catherine Cricket Association bettered Kingston and St Andrew by nine wickets - good enough for fourth place in the group with 13 points - while Portland and Lucas played out a draw at Folly Oval, with the hosts claiming first-innings points.

In Group B action, there was an innings victory for leaders the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) (22 points) over St James, while second-place Clarendon (19 points) lost ground after losing first innings to Hanover, who joined them on the same points tally.

St James were ambushed at Up Park Camp by an innings and 13 runs by the army men, whose 307-5 was too much for the team from the west, which posted 149 and 145 in both innings.

JDF's Bereston Reid helped himself to 131 runs, while his teammate Sheldon Cottrell, tormented the boundary ropes with an explosive 102 runs off a mere 36 balls. Akbar Moodie claimed 6-26 in St James' first innings to propel the army team to victory.

In the other game, St Mary defeated Police by four runs at Elletson Road to move into fourth place with 15 points.
