Looking more like a schoolgirl than the accomplished holder of two post-graduate degrees, Dr Andrine Stanhope celebrated her birthday with a lavish affair at the Braco Great House in Trelawny recently.

With selector Kurt Riley at the the turntable, state minister with responsibility for Local Government affairs, Robert Montague, Portmore Mayor Keith Hinds and executive director of the National Solid Waste Management Authority, Joan Gordon-Webley, among others, were kept rocking, it to the beat.

The exotic setting of Chris Parnell's Braco Great House perched on a hill overlooking the Caribbean Sea contrasted with the busy North Coast Highway illuminated by the fading moon. The ambience led master of ceremonies Mayor Hinds, to comment that more events of that nature should be held at the venue.

Not only were the senses of hearing and sight stimulated, but also that of taste. Selena Wong's birthday cake was a treat, as was the lavish menu prepared by master chef, Bryan HoSue.

Among the guests in attendance were: Councillors Audley Gordon and Heroy Clarke, Mark Rodney, Kayon Laing, Graceann Cameron.
