Hottest topics on the cocktail circuit

1. Some say the broadcast was tantamount to giving the rogue elements a warning, so why is anyone acting surprised that barricades went up and, after the assault and all, the chief suspect is still at large!

2. Observers are saying if we are serious about taking back the country, we must begin by upgrading the level of parliamentary representation, as in recent times, the standards have been reduced to include all and sundry.

3. While some political types here at home are fearing the fall of the current regime, others are more concerned about the stability of the US government, because of one of our most recent exports.

4. It's the new buzzword: Sextortion - man sleeps with woman, shortly after man gets call from woman - she is either pregnant or have some unspecified illness and needs some cash to take care of the problem.

5. The succession fight is on in earnest and the would-be power brokers are quite busy duking it out. As the fight intensifies, some are busy leaking information on their rivals in the hope of eliminating them as contenders. The stuff being circulated makes for interesting reading and hearing, but it begs the question: Why has this not been handed over to the police so they could at least investigate and or prefer charges?

6. There are some who say the continued survival of the current administration is in the hands of Uncle Sam, as they say Uncle Sam has been eavesdropping for so long, the list of those implicated is likened unto a runaway best-seller!

7. Concerns are being raised by the constituents about the missing MP. There's equal concern that in the absence of the MP, the wife has not stepped in to provide some Mary Nightingale-type of service to the affected!
