Sundance - good music, good food, nuff vibes
Carl Gilchrist, Gleaner Writer
Known for staging events such as Daydreams and W, which have never disappointed their fans, promotion company Wright Image Entertainment had promised to raise the bar with another party, Sundance, held on Sunday at Irie Beach in St Ann - and it did.
The enchanting riverside venue (no, it's not the regular beach by the sea!) offered a near perfect setting for the ever popular Renaissance disco which, along with Third Dimension disco, kept the patrons dancing and fully entertained throughout.
The Moet and Chandon tent, set up on one side of the river, offered an exciting alternative to the Chivas Regal, Absolut Vodka and Red Bull tents that greeted patrons upon entering the venue.
Good time
The audience was mixed and included people from Kingston, Ocho Rios and elsewhere, but they had one thing in common - they all seemed to have had a good time.
Hot, pumping music inside a cool, relaxed venue simply means the best of both worlds.
But the icing on the cake, literally, was the food.
As if the music, venue and vibes weren't fabulous enough, the promoters got Elite Catering to provide some scrumptious offerings that totally delighted the taste buds.
Imagine a menu with honey glazed mango barbecued chicken, coconut crusted fish, curried goat and roti, braised pork with herbs, savoury creole fish soup with herbs and spices, shrimp pasta in champagne and basil cream sauce accompanied by coconut and raisin pilaf, grilled pineapple and mint salsa, plus an assortment of pastries and cakes.
The top shelf liquor of Moet, Chandon, Chivas Regal and Absolut Vodka kept the party vibes flowing.
