Hundreds travelled from all across Jamaica to see the animals at Jamaica Zoo in St Elizabeth and they were not disappointed. It was a joy to hear the expressions of the children as they experienced the novelty of lions, zebras, buffaloes, llamas, cortemundes, squirrels, racoons and toucans.

The weather interrupted the proceedings in the afternoon but it did not dampen the enthusiasm of the crowd. The entertainment segment was cancelled because of the declaration of the state of emergency in Kingston and St Andrew. Most of the artistes would have had to travel from the capital. The patrons were asked to keep their ticket stubs which would be valid for a future date, when the entertainment part of the event will be executed.
