US$10m wardrobe for Sex and the City 2
We expect a lot from the Sex and the City sequel - lots of drama, lots of sex, and lots of shoes, clothes, and accessories. But even our fertile imaginations would have never guessed how much the glitz and glamour would cost to create.
Stylist Philip Bloch, who spent some time on the set, told In Touch that he puts the wardrobe budget in the range of $10,000,000. Yes, that's seven zeroes. By way of explanation, Bloch offered: "Some of these pieces cost more than an SUV, but they get better mileage!"
Patricia Field, however, blames the recession, telling the weekly, "When you're in a recession, you want to have a good time!"
The most envy-inducing tidbit might be Kristin Davis' admission that the cast got to keep the clothes, though she adds there's a catch. "We're really careful though, because they're often one-of-a-kind samples from the runways. So we don't eat in them!"
To put it into perspective, $10 million could buy you:
192 Lexus GX 460s, which start at $52,000.
1.6 Zac Posen-decorated duplexes.
25,125 of the bags style blogger Kelly Framel designed for Coach.
