Jazz Festival begins with wine, fashion
The 20th staging of the Jamaica Ocho Rios International Jazz Festival gets off the ground on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. with a Jazz Wine and Fashion Show at the French Ambassador's residence at 13 Hillcrest Avenue in Kingston.
Staged this year by the Sonny Bradshaw Foundation, which was established in memory of the festival's late founder, C.V. 'Sonny' Bradshaw, the organisers of this year's festival will donate proceeds from the jazz wine and fashion show to the Consie Walters Cancer Care Hospice.
Fashions for the opening event come from Bling Bling Fashions, local designers Les Campbell and Fashion Whirl.
The show will also feature, among other performers, The Desi Jones Trio, trumpeter Ettienne Charles, an alumnus of the prestigious Juilliard School, Canadian singer Kiralina, and Lila, a seasoned, professional multi-instrumentalist.
Tickets for the fashion and jazz Show are available at Alliance Française de la Jamaïque, Scotty Jackson Jewellers and Music Mart.
