Whether you're looking for a fresh place to grab a stylish lunch with your co-workers or you're looking for a new excuse to get a breather on a random Thursday night, Saturday Life gives you the breakdown on Kingston's hot spots. This week's spot is Café Concheta.

What started out as one woman's inability to find good-quality, affordable food in a comfortable environment has led to the city's latest addition to the bistro community - Café Concheta.

The café, which is the namesake of Managing Director Cerise 'Concheta' Isaacs, has already risen above the competition just eight months into the game and with just one step through its doors, we see why.

With earth-tone walls and eclectic artwork amid the smells of freshly brewed coffee and teas, Concheta prides itself on the warm and welcoming casual dining experience.

"It's an extension of me; I'm always in search of quality," a stamp Isaacs has clearly placed on every aspect of the café, starting with the menu.

Concheta boasts breakfast items such as French toast and omelettes which may seem like your basic morning starters but with the latter comprising fresh mozzarella, tomatoes and onions, these are guaranteed to be better than what mom used to make.

The café also serves up lunch items such as paninis and wraps with your choice of turkey, ham, chicken, salmon and even smoked marlin, alongside crab backs and grilled chicken. Concheta surely doesn't leave out its 'temptations', such as pumpkin swirls and chocolate cake. A wide international selection of teas, coffee, fruit smoothies and a bevy of beers and wines are sure to be great accompaniments to any meal selection.

Café Concheta appeals to young professionals, health-conscious eaters and social groups and continues to hold the appeal of its diverse audience by hosting a few speciality nights. Already headlining is a poetry evening which features Jamaican classics like Louise Bennett's and personal journals and memoirs from regulars, all to a packed house and full wine glasses, courtesy of Wray and Nephew. Concheta's comedy and open-mic nights are also in the works.

With delectable food, service with charm and flair and an environment which allows you to exhale, Café Concheta is the next premier spot for you.
