Spend on 'My Market'

The Drumbeat Trophy, to be contested by nine $180,000 claiming horses, is the feature event at Caymanas Park today.
Offering a total purse of $438,000, the race is run annually to perpetuate the memory of the illustrious 60s' early 70s' campaigner DRUMBEAT, who won a total of 15 races for the legendary trainer Allan 'Billy' Wlliams, and was once the leading all-time stakes winner in Jamaica.
The field includes ante-post favourite, THAT'S MY MARKET, who bids for a hat-trick of wins over the course.
Claimed out of his last race by trainer Ryan Darby, the speedy six-year-old gelding by Market Rally out of That's My Girl, won his two races quite easily and having accounted for several of today's opponents in both, will prove hard to beat despite top weight of 57.0kg.
In-form
Running under a similar impost on April 24, THAT'S MY MARKET beat TIMOTHY SCOTT and MISTER OFFICER over the distance with a lot in hand, then returned three weeks later to whip MISTER OFFICER and POWER GLITZ by seven lengths over the course with 56.0kg. Oneil Mullings, who rode him last time out, again has the ride.
What is clear is THAT'S MY MARKET definitely has the beating of $180,000 claimers and, although changing hands since his last race, hails from an in-form stable.
Nothing in the form lines would suggest that a fit THAT'S MY MARKET will be beaten today. Hence, the hat-trick should be a mere formality, given his superior pace.
I am expecting him to gallop on to the main track in front, keeping old rivals POWER GLITZ, under champion jockey Omar Walker, and MISTER OFFICER at bay to the line. Both enjoy the straight and along with ROAD BLOCK should compete the superfecta, with THAT'S MY MARKET on top.
Meanwhile, the 10-race card offers a whopping Pick-9 carry-over of $17.5 million from Wednesday and this gives the meet added significance.
Pick-9 frenzy should be evident from about noon and with heavy betting anticipated, a payout in excess of $20 million looks a mere formality if the Pick-9 is caught today.
Punters eluded
Significantly, it has eluded punters for the past 11 racedays, but with the programme moderately supported and several bankers such as the stable companions CLASSY COMPANY and CLASSY PROSPECT, along with SPONGY SPONGY, THAT'S MY MARKET and OVATION standing out, indications are it will be cornered today.
I also like the well-forward US-bred 3-y-o debutante, BLACKIE DAVIS, from the stables of Vin Edwards, in the first race; and the sparingly raced 3-y-o colt, MR. SPEED, now thrown in for a tag by champion trainer Wayne DaCosta, in the sixth.
