High anticipation for CFW 2010

St Andrew, the fashion Mecca of Jamaica, came alive as patrons stepped out in style to kick off the much anticipated festivities of the 10th staging of Caribbean Fashionweek (CFW) on Tuesday.
Held at the Acropolis Gaming and Entertainment Centre, the cocktail party was more of a 'meet and greet' where industry professionals, models and other socialites came together to discuss fashion, fashion and more fashion.
Of course, St Andrew is on the eve of a trailblazing event that has garnered local, regional and international press. A number of international designers, who will be featured on the show, were present as well as a number of international models, like Jamaica's very own Nell Robinson who flew in just to rock the CFW runway at the National Indoor Sports Complex.
Former model-cum-mom Nadine Willis also stopped by to share in the photo opportunities.
Although scheduled to begin at 7 p.m., the official proceedings didn't get under way until minutes after 8, but that didn't stop the specially invited guests from mingling.
Spectacular
The almost packed room was given a hearty welcome by Julian Walker, entertainment manager of Supreme Ventures.
Although his speech was brief, he emphasised to guests how spectacular an event CFW was and how much was to be expected from its 10th staging.
After the speeches, Supreme Ventures Sports Betting introduced a cadre of models who, on Thursday night, will be modelling sports designs from football, track and field, and cricket.
