Homemaker and loving it

A former stripper-turned-international model cum mother and homemaker, Nadine Willis, has been bathed with happiness. International modelling agencies went ga-ga over the waiflike Nadine Willis.
Just four months into her career and she was named as one to watch, stepping from the strip clubs of Kingston and into the pages of prestigious magazines like British and French Vogue. But there's more to Willis than glamorous magazine shots.
These days, the Jamaican beauty takes pleasure in the joys of being a mother and now a wife. On July 31, 2009, she tied the knot with Christopher Wilson at Breezes Runaway Bay.
Despite the glamour of modelling, Willis lives her life very simple with very little fuss or frills.
The Gleaner caught up with the new Willis at Pulse's opening reception at the Hilton hotel poolside on Wednesday where the mother of two said she was happy.
A typical day
A typical day Willis said meant "waking up in the mornings, helping my daughters to get ready for school, dropping them off on time and then returning home. For the rest of the day, all I mostly do is cook and clean then head out to pick them up from school. For the most part though, I'm just ensuring that my daughters are doing the right thing," she said.
When we questioned Willis about whether or not she was missing the fashion industry, she chuckled and replied, "Do I miss the fashion industry? of course not. To miss something you have to be away from it and I'm still very much affiliated with it and I'm still around. I'm surrounded by the fashions and I'm at all the events, so I can't say that I've missed it. I don't know what that means."
Last year, Willis strutted down the runway at Caribbean Fashionweek, baby in tow only a few months after giving birth. The National Indoor Sports Centre gave her a standing ovation.
