CFW HIGHLIGHTS

The curtains came down on the 10th anniversary staging of Caribbean Fashionweek.

CORONATION CASH

As corporate Jamaica and government get ready to spend big bucks to refurbish Coronation Market, Digicel was the first to sweeten the pot with a cool $100 million.

To retire or not to retire

1. Retirement age means different things to different people - apparently. But what is the possible explanation for keeping a man employed in a high-level public-sector job way beyond age 70? Judges, teachers, doctors and others in the public sector have to retire at a specific age, with good reason too. Aside from politicians, who are allowed to serve perpetually, there seem to be an elite few who are allowed to stay on as long as they feel to do so.

The wife from hell

2. Some say the wife from hell has gone too far this time. Reports are that she paid a visit to a young woman whom she believes has designs on her husband. This 'Christian' lady delivered some choice words and was said to have threatened to get have the woman fired from her job. Well, "not so fast," the husband tells her, "this is not your domain, so stay at home".

Lawsuit coming

3. This one is not going away. The lady is not prepared to have her name dragged into the mud. The papers are being prepared, so listen for the salacious details.

Money woes

4. Where has all the money gone? He was the original Fat Cat with lots of money. Now he is borrowing from Dick, Tom and Harry. Many are only now finding out about his quiet addiction. There is an old saying that goes like this, "Birds of a feather flock together."
