Below are exceprts from online readers on Rev Al Miller's role in the capture of Christopher 'Dudus' Coke.

Rev Miller's intentions might have been good, but he broke the law and should have been arrested.

- Carlyle Mills

Though I am not a big fan of the Rev Al Miller, I think we should temper our criticisms of him in this situation. If, as is being alleged, Dudus contacted him and asked him specifically to take him in to the US Embassy, then the Rev Miller would have found himself between the devil and the deep blue sea.

Had he refused and attempted to negotiate/suggest some terms of surrender, Dudus may have remained on the run, prolonging this unfortunate and bloody chapter of our history.

On the other hand, should the Rev Miller accede to Dudus' request, then he could be seen as a Dudus sympathiser, a felon who was not only harbouring a fugitive but also aiding and abetting a criminal.

So, damned if you do, damned if you don't. Instead of criticising him, let us cut the Rev some slack.

The Rev you did the right thing. If Dudus had made it to the embassy, he would have been given the chance to confess and call names of all the public officials and businessmen he worked for. The longer Dudus stays in Jamaica, the more likely he will not live to be extradited. I hope Jamaica does the right thing, and allow Dudus to leave its shores alive!!

Why isn't the Rev incarcerated? If I had been caught with Dudus in my vehicle, knowing that he was wanted by the local police, I would have been arrested and charged with aiding and abetting a known fugitive. What was he thinking? I was mortified by his action. I just cant get this equation.
