Rave reviews

The declaration of a state of emergency in parts of Kingston might have resulted in the inopportune postponement of the Equilibrium Day Rave back in May but for veteran promoter and Virtue Events frontman, Omari Virtue, the crowd at the party held on Sunday, June 20 was more than enough conciliation.
Hundreds of dapper patrons made the unbeaten trek to Stony Hill's new premier venue, The Ridge, in search of sheer emotional release, which Equilibrium unequivocally offered up at post-recession friendly prices.
The venue was wonderfully outfitted with a make-up booth, provided by Gabriella's Cosmetics, and colourful tents which came in handy during the brief stint of rain - a downpour most patrons barely seemed to notice as it surely didn't dampen the vibe at sundown.
Of course, the ravers came out for the music, and with heavyweights like FAME FM's Kurt Riley, ZJ Liquid, ZJ Chrome and Darkcide, the task at hand was made easy for the promoter. The turntables made the journey through the ages and genres with smooth transition.
In-between sets, patrons kept their cups and plates full and running over, as they were treated to ultra-inclusive Kirov Vodka mixology bars and food provided by Friday's.
