RIU drops prices for 'dreamers'
For the 2010 Smirnoff Dream weekend, armband holders get the opportunity to take advantage of discounted hotel packages at the RIU Hotel in Negril.
RIU Resorts will be offering rooms at special rates for Emancipation weekend, July 30-August 1, 2010.
Two of the hotels in the chain - RIU Negril and RIU Tropical Bay - will slash rates on a block of rooms set aside for armband holders.
According to Deane Shepherd of the Dream Team, the group has been provided with 30 rooms at a discounted rate and a set of complimentary rooms.
"We are elated to be associated with RIU and are grateful for the assistance they have been able to extend to us. Their packages will go a far way in making this Smirnoff Dream weekend the best yet," Shepherd said.
Natural association
Angella Bennett, sales director, RIU Hotels & Resorts Jamaica, believes that it was only natural to partner with the top party weekend as the benefits derived, not only for the resort, but for western Jamaica, would be tremendous.
"The association with the Smirnoff Dream weekend will increase the exposure of the RIU brand to both locals and tourists alike. The economic spin-offs to Negril will also be significant," said Bennett.
She went on to say that armband holders would be able to tap into greater discounts on return visits and this was a revenue opportunity for the properties when the guests return in the off season.
Rooms for armband holders will be available at a discounted rate of $240 per night double occupancy, 40 per cent less than the regular rate.
The rate covers all meals and drinks, including Dream Weekend sponsors products, Heineken and Smirnoff Vodka.
To take advantage of this great deal, call RIU reservations and inform them that you are a Smirnoff Dream Weekend ticket holder to access the special rates.
Bennett warned armband holders that they need to book rooms as early as possible because there is limited space.
