MONACO (AP):

Cuban hurdler Dayron Robles has pulled out of tomorrow's Diamond League meet in Monaco because of sore legs.

Organisers said yesterday the defending Olympic champion and world record-holder is still suffering from the pains which forced him to withdraw from the Paris Diamond League meet last week.

Dumping LeBron

CLEVELAND (AP):

They're taking the jerseys off their backs for LeBron James. Then tossing them away - for a good cause.

Stung by the NBA superstar's decision to leave Cleveland and play for Miami, Cavaliers fans have been unloading their unwanted No. 23 jerseys, T-shirts and other clothing items bearing James' name at locations around the city. Organisers are shipping the discarded James gear to homeless shelters in South Florida.

For the past week, Cleveland fans have been dropping off their LeBron-related items at Yours Truly Restaurants in Northeast Ohio. Miller said he and his friends wanted to turn a negative situation into a positive and that the response has been "extraordinary".

Keeper on hold

SAO PAULO (AP):

Flamengo have changed their minds and decided not to fire goalkeeper Bruno despite his alleged involvement in the disappearance and alleged murder of his ex-girlfriend.

The club says it wants to wait until all legal proceedings are over before making a final decision regarding Bruno, who is currently in police custody.

Team president Patricia Amorim said last week that Flamengo would also sue Bruno because of damage to the team's image.
