Thousands of persons at the 17th staging of Reggae Sumfest were able to benefit from a cash rebate offered by Wisynco Group. The distribution and manufacturing company gave a $50 instant cash-back rebate to some Reggae Sumfest patrons when they purchased drinks at the event.

Kimberly Lawson, the company's public relations, sponsorship and events manager, said the promotion was part and parcel of Wisynco's total sponsorship of Reggae Sumfest, but was more to ensure consumers benefited in a real and meaningful way.

"This year, we thought out carefully how we could use our participation in this year's event to directly involve the patrons who attend the festival so, this year, upon entry to the venue, we will issue a $50 instant cash-back coupon to lucky patrons," Lawson had said.

The initiative comes on the heels of a rollback on prices of all the products Wisynco currently makes and distributes.

Lawson said the mechanics for the promotion were "straightforward and simple".

"What you see is really what you get. After receiving their cash-back coupons at the entrance, patrons would then purchase a bottle of WATA, Ocean Spray WATA, Coca-Cola or Coke Zero and take the unopened product, along with their coupon, to the designated redemption centre and they will get their instant cash back of $50. There are no strings attached," Lawson explained.

The redemption centre is located beside the main bar.

"We hope our consumers will enjoy our continued gestures of consideration as we find ways, no matter how small or large, to continue improving the lives of our people!"

The company sponsored the 2010 staging of Reggae Sumfest through its brands WATA, Coca-Cola, Ocean Spray WATA and newly acquired Red Bull.
