Caymanas Park to roll out new bets
Two new exotic bets will come on stream at Caymanas Park on Saturday, August 7.
These are the Pick 4 and Hit Six, while Caymanas Track Limited (CTL) will also be introducing an overlapping Super-6 on programmes with less than 12 races.
The Pick-4 wager will challenge the public to select the winners of four consecutive races while the Hit Six will ask punters to correctly forecast the first six finishers in a single race.
Overlapping Super-6
In relation to the overlapping Super-6, under the new format the Super-6 will be conducted on races 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 on a 10-race programme, while the second Super-6 will be races 5,6,7,8,9 and 10. Hence, the overlapping races will be five and six.
If there is no winner of the first Super-6, that carryover will go to the first Super-6 on the next race day. Similarly, if there is no winner of the second Super-6 that carryover will go to the second Super-6 on the next raceday.
According to CTL's acting CEO and director of marketing, Chris Armond, the new bets are designed to improve sales at Caymanas Park and its 62 off-track betting parlours islandwide.
Armond said the Super-6 is the most popular of all bets at the park.
"With this in mind, we decided to introduce an overlapping Super-6 for obvious reasons, and this, along with the Pick-4 and Hit Six, should have the desired effect re impacting sales for the remainder of 2010," he explained.
