DAMBULLA, Sri Lanka (AP):

India batsman Yuvraj Singh has dengue fever, captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni announced yesterday. He said, however, that Yuvraj "is out of danger."

The mosquito-borne disease has already killed more than 170 people in Sri Lanka this year and sickened 21,000 people. Yuvraj was to play in the third tri-series match against Sri Lanka today, but will now miss the match.

The 28-year-old cricketer has played 34 Tests for India with a batting average of 35.63.

Dhoni also said seam bowler Ashish Nehra is doubtful for the match because of an injury. India lost to New Zealand by 200 runs on Tuesday.
