Pulse supermodel Jaunel McKenzie is the new star of the latest Neiman Marcus campaign. The multiple-spread advertising appears in the American retail giant's stores across the country, as well as in the latest fashion glossies.

McKenzie's journey onto the high-flying global fashion stage began in Jamaica when the then lanky 15-year-old strolled into Pulse's office and signed up for the organisation's Caribbean Model Search. She has come a long way since that day.

McKenzie's success, coupled with that of Nadine Willis' rapid rise to the heights of world modelling, ignited a powerful movement of Caribbean talent that fuels the Pulse Model Search even today.

It is, therefore, fitting that Jaunel, who has amassed a superb portfolio of high-profile editorials and campaigns, still holds her position as one of international modelling's top professionals. She has maintained a sound working roster and continues to consistently command the attention of fashion's elite. In the process, McKenzie has paved a solid path for her Pulse colleagues, such as Jeneil Williams and Sedene Blake, who are also making names for themselves. The most recent top guns of the search, Blake and Williams, are appearing in a blaze of covers and editorials, including Italian Vogue, i-D, LOVE, American Vogue and multiple issues of Russian Vogue, popping up on newsstands everywhere. The timing is also good, as the wave of attention has come for the spring-summer collections set to begin in September.

Versatility

As for McKenzie, who has earned her stripes on the global runways, making an impact is something she wants to continue to do with every assignment she books. For Neiman Marcus, she shows off expert versatility, donning fashion's cool and sexy "of the moment" trend - animal prints. This story was captured in the historic Joshua Tree National Park in Palm Springs, California.

The exotic editorial beauty recently completed a 'fantastic four' set of magazine features for international fashion standouts French Marie Claire, British Glamour, Red and Cosmo, shot at locations in Paris, London and her work base in New York, giving her the kind of high visibility that only supermodels of her calibre enjoy. Jaunel's many accolades include the number-one world ranking among models of colour and a top-25 ranking of all models worldwide (models.com).

She was also the only Caribbean model to be declared among the most successful black models of all time, by Ebony magazine in 2008.
