DAY TWO of the Digicel Consumer Electronics show on Sunday at The Wyndam hotel in New Kingston, was not short of excitement as segments of Corporate Jamaica turned out armoured with samples of the latest technology on offer.

Day two of the event was similar to the previous day with telephone giants Digicel, title sponsor of the event, doing on-the-spot subscriptions to their 4G technology, at the Digicel booth, along with displays its new phones and gadgets.

Digicel also gave discounts on prepaid and post-paid subscriptions.

The Gleaner booth was also fully equipped with samples of its products, as well as on-the-spot signing up for the online news feed and promotion of the website. There were also giveaways to lucky customers who were randomly selected for prizes from THE STAR. Jamal Gregory, a young STAR reader, for instance, got a bag full of goodies courtesy of THE STAR.

TV PON FONE

A major attraction, just as it was on day one, was the mobile TV PON FONE booth.

Decorated to look like a beach, the TV PON FONE booth had beautifully adorned ladies wearing beachwear and modelling TV PON FONE body spray. The ladies were helping to promote a cellphone which boasted television capabilities. There were also displays of the phones with examples of the stations available.

Netlink Jamaica limited showcased hurricane shutters, camera systems and advertised their free hurricane-assessment policy.

"There are specials right now because we are in the hurricane season and we want our services to be affordable," said Jody Wong, a representative from Netlink.

Among the sponsors were RJR, Fame, The Gleaner, Digicel and The Wyndham hotel.
