This year Miss Jamaica World was the year for change.

The dawn of a new era was realised when former beauty queens took the reigns of the Miss Jamaica World Competition.

There was also a new crown and new prizes for Chantal Raymond, the competition's eventual winner.

One of those prizes, a new car courtesy of Stewart Motors. Of course there was also a new Jewellery suite courtesy of Adamas Jewelers in Canada.

Another new section of the pageant was the 'Miss Jamaica World Peace & Love Recognition Award'.

Dwayne Swaby was the first recipient of this award, which pointed to one of the thrusts of the competition, which is to help others.

In the same breath Dr Tonoya Toyloy-Williams was awarded the special award for excellence.
