Courtney Walsh's SVL clinic moves to Kingston
An additional 20 Under-15 cricketers have been selected for the continuation of the Supreme Ventures-sponsored Courtney Walsh cricket camp, which will now move to the Elletson Road grounds in Kingston from August 26-September 1, 2010.
This camp will cater to players from the parishes of Kingston, St Andrew, St Thomas, St Mary, Clarendon and Portland. The first batch of players were hosted at the St Elizabeth Technical High School (STETHS).
The selectees are: Ashmed Campbell, Daniel Griffiths, Christopher Lewis, Abhijai Mansingh, Jamari Martin, Romaine Martin, Christopher Tufton, Ricardo Verley, Ryan Scott, Malcolm White, Omari Williams (Kingston & St Andrew); Jemarie Harris, Michael Hurst, Shaquille Brown (St Catherine); Javian McFarlane (Portmore); Leonardo Daure (Portland); Nicholas Walters, Christopher Green (St Mary); Carl Reid (St Thomas) and Emil Langott (Clarendon).
The camp will be residential and the invitees are expected to report at Elletson Road by noon on August 26.
National cricket coaches Junior Bennett and Robert Samuels, along with the programme's visionary and West Indies cricket legend, Courtney Walsh, will spearhead the camps.
A number of 'Beyond the Boundary' presentations will also be staged with the aim of developing rounded and smart-thinking components for the game.
The camp will conclude with a two-day presentation match on the last two days (August 31 and September 1), followed by an awards ceremony and dinner banquet, where sectional awards will be presented to the top performers over the week.
