After officially breaking on to the music scene in 2008, Tre'Jur, a group of three talented singing sisters, are making some headway.

Offsprings of singing-savvy parents, Samuel Manning and Audrey Treasure, it has been the trio's dream to gain musical recognition.

They hope to take their musical career further than their parents had ever dreamt.

"We want to be that female group that breaks all musical barriers, going on to dominate the international scene," Mariam 'Speshi' Manning, the second eldest of the sisters, said. "We've acknowledged our purpose on earth, and that is to do music," she added.

"Not just casually, but that feel-good music that people can enjoy, and we have realised that we have the ability to do great music and go down in history!" Lace Manning, the youngest, said.

Interestingly, the sisters owe their existence to the fateful meeting of their parents at a talent show.

"I think that's beautiful, given the path that we have all taken," Speshi said.

The eldest of the three sisters is Maxandra 'Max' Manning. The sisters are all past students of Holy Childhood High School. Max, however, recently completed her studies at the University of the West Indies.

First single

These songstresses might not appear, at first, to be a powerhouse of melody, harmony and lyrics, but their debut single Dis Boi, on Skatta/Deewaan's 'Hangova' riddim, will quickly dispel any doubts.

"That's our first single and it shows Jamaica our unique sound, versatility and flavour," Mariam said.

"Our style is very different from others here in Jamaica. We call it island pop. It's the type of music that Sean Kingston is known for," she added.

The group also promotes female independence in their music and looks to one day be female ambassadors of Jamaican music.

Tre'Jur's single, Dis Boi, has also been receiving favourable airplay. Local television stations have also been playing the video.

The group is signed to Jam-Down music, headed by Othman Mukhlis ,who has worked with the likes of T.I., Sean Paul, Damian Marley and Tony Matterhorn.

The sisters all boast musical knowledge beyond their years and said they intend to bring a breath of fresh air to the music.

The group is actively promoting its music.

"We know what we can do. We believe strongly that we can achieve out goals," Max said.
