Tom Brady was involved in a car accident Thursday morning.

The NFL football player - who is married to Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bundchen - was driving to the offices of Boston radio station WEEI for his weekly appearance when the accident took place.

According to reports, Brady's Bentley car hit a traffic light and a red minivan at around 6.30 a.m. on the corner of Commonwealth and Gloucester.

Although the 33-year-old sportsman was left "shaken" by the incident, he was able to exit his vehicle unaided and refused to be taken to hospital.

However, a hydraulic cutting device, known as the 'Jaws of Life', was employed at the scene of the incident and is believed to have been used to remove a passenger travelling in the van.

The quarterback - who has a nine-month-old son, Benjamin, with the catwalk beauty - is due to play his first game of the new NFL season tomorrow when his team, the New England Patriots, takes on the Cincinnati Bengals.
