Barbados (CMC):
Prime Minister David Thompson's personal physician, Dr Richard Ishmael, told the nation yesterday that the Barbadian leader had been diagnosed with cancer.
At a press conference, carried live on radio, Ishmael said a biopsy had confirmed Thompson has carcinoma of the pancreas, manifested in the form of a tumour of his pancreatic gland. He said that the location of the tumour has made it difficult to remove.
