Paradise Weekend makes its way to Port Royal
Since the devastating earthquake that hit the city of Port Royal on June 7, 1692, the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' have steered clear of its ports, navigating the seas and looting lands far and wide. This Heroes weekend, from October 15-17, the pirates will return to paradise for a pirate's feast - five events at the Morgan's Harbour Hotel.
The Paradise Weekend, after it's first staging at the Hedonism II Resort in Negril this summer, drew visitors from all over the world.
Now the weekend has returned to the city for Jamaica's Heroes weekend.
"This weekend experience is one that is very unique in all aspects of it's offering, and we are very excited to play to this wonderful weekend which promises to bring our people closer together to party, drink and partake in pirate-like activities over the weekend, but responsibly," said Keith Brown, entertainment manager at Morgan's Harbour Hotel.
The weekend is slated to begin on Friday, October 15 with an event called 'Secrets of the Black Pearl'.
Patrons will be encouraged to wear all black attire and enjoy two-for-one rum mixes all night.
The weekend heats up on Saturday, October 16, starting at midday with a 'Pirate's Feast' - food-and-rum-inclusive beach party, including lunch, dinner and dessert.
That night, there will also be a rum-inclusive pirate's ball called 'Secrets at the Fountain of Youth'.
Then come Sunday it's off to 'Stranger Tides' on a trip to Lime Cay on the Flying Dutchman, a party yacht starting at midday, where food and rum will be inclusive all day. Patrons will be free to enjoy Lime Cay's beach, and board the Flying Dutchman for food and refreshments. Sunday night it's at 'World's End' as the pirate's will party for the last time before heading back to sea.
